More Love
Last week while browsing through a few of my favorite blogs, I stumbled upon a blog that is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. The blog is called Tatertots and Jello. I LOVE everything about this blog! Especially the unique Valentines marble project. I could not get my x's to look the way I wanted them to, so I varied mine a little bit. This was the first project that I started and finished in the same day! I made the frame all by myself too! I think it makes a great gift, and I plan on doing them for a few more holidays this year.
Love
This weekend was all about love in my home!
Last night I was busy making sugar cookies for a bake sale today at work. My company is hosting a bake sale to raise money for the Haiti Relief project with the American Red Cross. I felt that making heart shaped cookies was a great way to help out.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
While rearranging my pantry last night I realized I had an exceeding large amount of rolled oats. One Giant canister and four 2lb bags in fact. I also found a canister of raisins, that were sure to go unnoticed for another couple of months if I did not use them soon. So, at 10:00 an night in a freshly cleaned and kitchen I decided to make Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. I have been sitting on a particular recipe for sometime, that I also happen to have handy. Everything was working out great! I had to make them! They were amazing!!
P.S. This was the very first time I made Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. I have decided that these little beauties are overlooked far more than they should be.

When life starts to go pear shaped and it feels as if nothing is right in the world, I take solace knowing that I can go to my kitchen and come out with something warm and comforting and whole. Cooking brings me to a world that is filled with smells, whisks, frostings, tastes, and sometimes even messes. But, I know that at the end of the recipe if I add enough sugar it always turns out sweet. Then, after my world starts to come back to me, I take myself to the crafting table and play with pretty fabrics and sparkles. It’s everything I need to feel refreshed and ready for a new day!
